I don’t think we should have blinked; we should have made a pact, no blinking. Just like that, we are halfway through 2025. I’m feeling a mix of disbelief and disappointment in myself. I’ve had, like everyone else, six months to achieve so much, and I haven’t.
The end of June seems like the perfect time to pause and reflect. Six months have slipped through our fingers, some filled with success, others with challenges. If, like me, you’re feeling like you’ve strayed from the path you envisioned when the year began, take heart—this is your reminder that it’s not too late. In fact, it’s never too late.
In January this year, I set out with an idea of what I wanted to achieve this year. The first half of this year, I have failed to start focusing on what I want most. So, we both now have an opportunity to start again this year, you don’t have to wait for 01 January to start again. The beauty of life lies in the reset it offers us—every single day presents a fresh chance to begin again. You can start today, tomorrow, Monday, or even on the first of the month. Whether your resolutions are collecting dust or you’ve yet to make any goals at all, now is the time to dig deep, reignite your ambitions, and make 2025 your year.
I sit here reflecting on the first half of the year and find myself in exactly the same position. I have not ticked off any resolutions, and while small progress was made between January and March, since then, I have struggled to re-establish where I am going and achieve what I want. I am not giving up, neither should you. We have 184 days ahead – in the next six months.
Why Start Now?
Everything we achieve starts with one step, one small action, and the second half of the year offers a clean slate. Think of it as your halftime break. You’ve gained insights from the first six months—lessons about what works, what doesn’t, and what truly matters. Use those lessons as your foundation for a stronger, more focused second half.
Don’t underestimate the power of six months. A lot can happen in six months. Books can be written, habits can be transformed, relationships can bloom, personal growth can soar, and dreams can be realised. The key is to begin. Today.
How to Make the Rest of 2025 Count: Visualise in this moment, where you want to be at the end of the year. Maybe even consider New Year’s Eve, what does it look like to you?
- Revisit Your Resolutions: Dig up those goals you set in January. Which ones still light a fire in you? Which need tweaking? Prioritize what truly aligns with your values.
- Set New Intentions: If the goals you had at the start of the year no longer feel relevant, create new ones. Aim for small, achievable wins that will build momentum.
- Practice Gratitude: Celebrate the progress you’ve made, no matter how small. Gratitude not only boosts your mood but also reinforces the mindset that you’re capable of achieving more.
- Break It Down: Tackle your goals in bite-sized pieces. Six months is plenty of time when you focus on steady, consistent steps.
- Remember your why: Your resolutions and goals were set with purpose, remember what made you want to start.
- Stay Flexible: Life will throw curveballs, but resilience lies in adapting. View challenges as opportunities to grow stronger.

The calendar doesn’t define your potential—you do. Whether it’s your health, career, relationships, or personal passion projects, the second half of the year is brimming with opportunity. Imagine looking back on December 31st and feeling a deep sense of pride for everything you turned around, everything you built, and everything you became.
2025 is still yours to claim. Dust off those dreams, embrace the possibilities, and step boldly into the months ahead. The best is yet to come—and it starts with what you choose to do today.
